I got to the range today with the CMMG M4 LE .22.
I can honestly say I'm impressed.700 rounds, not one malfunction with the exception of Remington Subs. They just will not feed.
Keep in mind, this is with a new stock G.I. trigger.
Ammo was:
Federal 550 Bulk 36 gr. HP
Federal Champion 40 gr.
CCI Mini Mag HP
CCI Stinger
Winchester 555 Bulk 36 gr. HP
Kind of windy, 90 degrees, low humidity
Range was 25 yards
UTG 1-4 X scope

It looks like your Mini Mags are the round the weapon likes best from an accuracy point of view. The Fed and Win bulk pack stuff looks fairly good for all around shooting pleasure.

Funny you say the Remington subs won't feed for you, they work fine in my dedicated .22LR AR type but only with a suppressor on to build back pressure. These things are blow back and most subsonic won't cycle reliably unless one has a suppressor on the barrel to do just that, make some back pressure. Here's my home built upper / dedicated .22 LR rifle.

I'll have to look at it closer. I fired 10 rounds of Rem subs without a problem. I had the can on it. Secound mag wouldn't even chamber.
I was long into the range session so I may have had enough gunk built up to throw them off. But everything else chambered and fired fine.
The Rem Sub looks like it's slightly longer than the other rounds.
I was pretty happy with the rifle for the first time out.
After shooting, I went to pack up and found my scope turning in the rings. Stupid mistake not to check it. It must have loosened while I was shooting.
So now I'm not sure what it's capable of.

O.S.O.K.

Is this a CMMG dedicated rifle? Or the conversion kit? My conversion kit does very well in my Bushmaster HBAR - but I haven't tried as many brands of ammo - need to do that to find it's sweet spot.

Wonder how it'd do with Wolf Target Match? I got some of that stuff in to try with my 10-22, but I should try it with the CMMG too....

I have the CMMG conversion also. I've run it in 4 AR's with absolutely no problems.
The one I posted is a complete rifle.
It comes with a complete 5.56 lower and the dedicated .22 upper for $550. I ran 700 rounds down it yesterday with 0 malfunctions(- the REMS)
I've had great luck with the CMMG .22's. Not so much with some others.
The added features of the CMMG BCG are nice.
Live round extraction, cotter pin holding the firing pin
Pinned extractor-Like an AR15
BCG is held into the receiver with a ball detent. It stays in place and won't fall out when you open the upper receiver.
And a lot of new stuff coming.
True Bolt Hold Open
Working forward assist

Here's some info I found:

CMMG has really stepped up the game.

If it works for 10 rounds it should work for 30. I think you are right, probably enough gunk built up to stop them from feeding well. I never understood how dirty .22 LR was until I started shooting the .22 LR AR rifle. Shot tons of .22 LR but until last couple of years it was all from bolt guns.

I cleaned the weapon and hand cycled some Rem Subs. They cycled fine. I'll try them again this week. I never had a semi auto that would cycle the Rem Subs. It would be great if they did. Very quiet.
That is another feature I like about this CMMG system. Live round extraction.

with the exception of Remington Subs. They just will not feed.

works in my 4" suppressed ,only with the can on

have close to 4500 rounds through my CMMG kit in my 11" and 4" upper with under 50 stoppages

can cycle 60gr super subsonics with the right can media

Friggin hoot, cheap fun

at 100yds with the 4" and burris fast fire clone I can hold a group small enough to cover with your hand.

Good to know. I never had any luck with them in a Spikes, 10/22, or my 22/45.
I'll be at the range Monday with any luck.

The Remington Subs cycle fine suppressed or unsuppressed until the feed ramp gets caked up with lead. I guess there is just enough difference in the bullet profile for it to shave some lead off at the ramp. I clean it off, and it will run another 10-15 rounds with no problem.
