Gee, just when you think something could never be F'd up, Century gets in the UZI market. I know this has been in rumor for a while now, but seeing it in centerfire's flyer makes me weep.

Bring it down to 399 and then we'll talk. Over 700? I could go to Atlantic and own a Vector.

I've never liked the Uzi. It's fugly. Same with the "MAC-10". I hate the look.

Also near the top of the fugly list is the Steyr AUG and the FN P-90.

And every one of those guns are a TON of fun to shoot.

I would never buy a weapon over $300 or so from Century arms...

I own a Group Industries semi auto Uzi and I think it's about the most impractical weapon in my collection. Being a pistol caliber it isn't very powerful, being an Uzi it weighs more than an AK rifle. The 16 inch barrels look like hell vs what it should look like. One of these days I keep thinking I'll do an SBR paper work on it and then at least it would look right and then it would be compact enough to bother with.

I always thought a semi auto uzi was a gigantic handgun.

Wouldn't a AR carbine be more practical for just about anything?

Just remember, the Uzi was designed to work in the sand box. Functional ugly. Heavy yes, but when it was designed, function led to form, not the other way around.

As to Century making an Uzi, I think this could be the end of time sign. :smiley31:

I wanted an UZI just for the cool factor,I ended up with a MPA 9mm carbine. Now I'm ready to sell it and get the 7.62x25 upper for one of the 5 lowers have sitting around.

I'm only willing to risk $300 on a Draco not an UZI.

If I was going to own an UZI, it would be the Micro in .45acp.

I bought one and it should be coming soon, having nodak make the recievers puts my mind somewhat at ease and I will report on what it's like when I get it.

Just don't purchase and the price may well drop to 300, thats what their other guns have done.

I'd get another UZI BUT I wouldnt pay over $500 for one of these.. Unless I got to shoot it first.

The Vector UZI rifles are only a few more dollars and backed up by a 5 year warranty.

I wouls buy an Uzi for $299, Which is about what I paid for my Cetme, FAL, and Romanian AKM, but if I had a serious need for a 9mm carbine, it would be an upper half for one of my ARs.

Couldn't agree more from a chinese uzi owner. Been thinking about sbr too, but probably not worth the $200.

This brings to mind an Uzi parts kit I have been sitting on for awhile. Does anyone know what it would take to make a 922r compliant build? I would like go the sbr route.

I've had the Vector UZI's for years and never had any problems. Plus, their back up service has been excellent.

The answer for sometime has been sell your kit at market prices ($350-400) and buy a compliant UZI already built.... :) Unless you really have to, buying something built for $700-750 is going to be much cheaper. The last guy I knew who built an UZI had around $850 in it, and that's with him already owning all the tools to do it.

Same here with my Norinco 320. It is nice to shoot +P+ through with that 16" barrel.

And this is why I traded mine for an KISS AR-15 11.5" BBL.

I can't buy one, so they must suck. Oh yeah, and the grapes are sour, too.

Uzis are pretty much for close range shooting. However, a show on the History Channel, Military Channel, or History International had a show where the Uzi had maneuverability advantage over the AK in urban scenarios.

One of my key thoughts on surviving total anarchy would be to avoid urban scenarios.
