I've still got some I bought from Century when they sold it by bulk in old MG42 ammo cans but I think it's from the 70's and berdan primed. Shot well in my CETME and Polytech M14S. As I recall the jacket tends to fragment easily after penetrating, causing extra trauma.

DAG is made by Dynamit Nobel

DAG 7.62 Nato is supposed to have one of the most lethal FMJ bullets in this chambering. They have a very think soft steel jacket that lets the bullets fragment very easily. I always wanted to get a bunch of it but it disappeared from the market before I found out about it. Now I don't have the disposable income to spend on it.

I got some myself from AIM before the Obamanation was elected. I've shot a few rounds through my ptr-91 but I'm still trying different sights so I don't have a range/accuracy report to give yet.......I should really get on that :D.

Thanks for the backup info Schuetz, Aim says...1990's Surplus German NATO 7.62x51 (.308) DAG ammunition. This is beautiful, accurate ammunition packaged for long term storage. Features a 147grn lead core full copper and nickel (magnetic) jacketed bullet, brass case, and non-corrosive berdan primer. Packed 20rds in a box, 200rds (10 boxes) in a sealed waterproof PVC battlepack. While supplies last. $89.95/ea.
Most online reviews say the older shipments had tarnished cases with some blowouts, '90s stuff should be good to shoot right away. It's too late now, the order shipped and will get shot! Hopefully will be able to provide a fair range report from some ban era Century (G3/91s) WTFE they are rifles.

I might have to get some and try it out. I haven't ever shot it before so couldn't tell you much about it.

Some other 7.62N ammunition from Europe also have a steel jacket. You can bet some folks bought it thinking it was AP. lol I am not sure what the hardness of the steel is.

Just FYI - found some of this cheaper - http://www.dansammo.com/ammo.asp

$425/1000 round case. Or $85/200 round battle pack.

Thanks for the heads-up on price. $425/1000 is still a bit pricey though ;) Received the DAG order from aim and opened one box, I should say the battle packs were intact, no holes like I've seen in others. The ammo is bright n shiny. I don't see a range day happening in the near future anytime soon, until then this is my sample order and I'll have to live with it unless the price comes down...
