View Full Version : Help With ID of Possible US Manufacturer Marks On MAK 90 Parts

First post, but I've been a lurker for a while...

Can anyone help me with identification of these marks? The "circle C" marks are on a magazine floorplate and follower. Their condition is definately new compared to the magazine body. The other mark is on a gas piston. The one on the gas piston could possibly be a "c"... but it is mostly closed, and resembles a "o". (Maybe the small diameter of the gas piston did not allow for a good stamping job). Under close examination it does not look like the piston pin through the carrier has been replaced, unless they did a really good polishing job. The bolt carrier has a matching S/N and is original.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

Usually Century importers stamped the "C" on their parts. Although I have never seen their mark on a mag part, they are probably there to indicate the part is US made and the rifle is in compliance with the sporting purpose clause of the new ATF second amendment.

Well, tying the marks to Century (possibly) is a good start, and yes I figured that the marks were for compliance purposes. I'm wondering if the letter "c" was used for a time by more than one US manufacturer to stand for "compliance"?

Not likely, most manufacturers stamp their parts "Made in USA". As far as I know, only Century stamps their parts with a "C".

Thanks,..... I'll watch this thread for a couple of days first, but I guess an easy way to verify the markings would be to forward the photo's to them for conformation...

I was hoping someone else would chime in with a "I have those same mag parts" post.
