Two gun bills — one to make it easier for police to purchase firearms as private citizens and one to allow hunters to have concealed weapons with short barrels — passed unanimously out of a House committee Friday.

Rep. Brad Galvez, R-West Haven, proposed HB117, which would allow law enforcement officers to bypass background checks every time they made a private gun purchase because they already have annual background checks.

It would all be so much easier if all the states and the federal government had a document that was considered the supreme law of the land, and that document mandated that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That would make it so much easier on these poor politicians so they wouldn't have to constantly rephrase all the firearm laws.

Gun bills sail through committee

What on earth is THIS:
The proposal, HB117, would allow hunters with concealed-weapons permits to carry — while hunting — a concealed weapon with a barrel length shorter than four inches.

Since when is there any barrel length requirement on a handgun???

Oh you mean that pesky outdated "living document" that politicians wipe their asses with?

Yeah... it would be nice if the Constitution and BOR actually meant anything....
