I bought her in the summer of 2004 from a surplus store in downtown Halifax for $80. Chambered in .32 Winchester Special. She seen a lot of use, but still has lots of life left. Probably the rifle I would choose if I could only keep one. Although it is a 100 yard gun, for me it is the most comfortable to shoot and has a surprising amount of knock down vs kick for white tail deer. I have fired quite a bit of hand loads using cast bullets and have become quite the sharp shooting plinker with this old girl. Out of everything in my collection, this is the one I have fired the highest number of rounds though. It has been all over the province with me and has likely been a key contributor in the decline in population of White Tailed Deer in Nova Scotia. Locally people call this model of Carbine the "Gang Green Gun" mostly because it is the number one most popular deer hunting rifle in Nova Scotia but usually chambered in 30-30. Being the most common gun in the woods during hunting season it of course blamed for the highest number of crappy wound shots. building this bad rap.

It might be C&R... is it 50 years old? Made before 62? Guess it doesn't matter since you are operating under different laws.

Regardless, it's very nice and the 32 Special has become a collector caliber here! 94's so chambered are commanding an increasing price. So you chose well!!

Great to hear that you are shooting (and hunting with?) cast boolits. I intend to do the same after I get moved to my new place - a small acreage that will allow me to hunt all season and really all year if I want to varmint and squirrel hunt, etc.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

yes hunting with cast bullets, They are cheap to reload with and work suprisingly well when loaded right. you cant load hot, but weaker cowboy action loads work like magic. i dont cast them myself because i care not to breath the fumes. I buy them by the bag already done with gas checks. I didnt know this was becoming a collector item. They are really common here. My particular rifle is from the early 70's (i was told) so wont be C&R for another little while.

You got a good deal on that model '94. They were three times that around here at that time...more now. Like you said, most are in 30-30. I got mine (in .32 Win Spl) used in 1964 for $65. Got my first deer that fall with it. I had hunted the year before with a borrowed model '94 in 25-35 and liked the feel. It just seemed to fit, and was a good point and shoot brush gun.
