I know this belongs somewhere else and I'm sorry, but my kiddo has saved 800 bucks for one of these things and I would like to know about them. He has one picked out at the Outpost (Ronnie Barretts place). I think he might be over paying, as it will come out to around 900 bucks. Is this crazy? It sounds high to me. Are they worth it? I'm a gun guy like the rest of you, but I'm ignorant about these saigas.

Need details. What caliber, is it converted to proper pistol grip configuration or original non-pistol grip "sporting" configuration, is it known who did the conversion, etc. A pic would be excelent too if that can be managed.

Just my choices, for his $800 he could purchase 2 sporters and convert them with whatever stock/grip/forend configurations the left over money could buy. There are many tut vids on YouTube not to mention this forums wide selection of brains to pick for you to do the conversion yourself with minor tools/know how. This could be a great bonding experience for the both of you and with 2 rifles you could try different configurations and head to the range trying to one up each other with each.

Just my 2 cents, sure others here will have more notion on where/what to get. Best of luck!

That is about retail on one of the Arsenal convertions which are very well done.

At those prices I would hope it's an arsenal conversion, very nice rifles but they are pricey considering...

If it is bone stock it is definitely on the high end of pricing. Check Gunbroker.com and Saiga12.com. For that price it better have some extras included.

A nicely converted 12ga Saiga can go for OVER $1,100.00..... I bought a home convertion for $800 or so...
