My friend was willed a shotgun and it seems like a hard one to find any info on. i was hoping someone here recognized it and could tell me anything about age, if it is valuable enough to not attempt use etc.

There is a catalog.

Looks like it is a W. & J. Davis made in Birmingham, England in the late 1800s to early 1900s. If you could hook up with the right British group they could narrow it down from the serial number. Looks like it needs some hammer screw repair, but other than that is in pretty good shape for +/-100 years old.
