True, but last time I checked his site, he was out of bolt bodies to modify. He's now just offering modifying the bolt body you send him.

Sarco has the bolt body for $10 or 15 each and they are super easy to modify your self with a drill press, vice, and a mig welder.I cut the ball off and drill a under size blind hole for the rod size then squish the ball on the shaft in the vice,Then I chuck it in my cordless drill and sand /polish any vice/ hammer marks on a belt sander be fore I bent it in a wood lined vice.I used 5/16 stainless rod and then mig'ed it to the body...cleaned up the welds with a flap wheel grinder then polish or sand blast ....kman

I've even drilled the body and silver soldered the shaft in to it.

Another thing, I wouldn't have mounted the bipod on the barrel. I'd mount it on the "stock" and let it fold forward.

OUCH on the hand cannon for sure.

Dark earth color maybe needs a bent bolt and a stock mounted bi-pod and a heavy barrel.

45/70 isn't really loaded that hot unless you reload.
Ammo manufacturers load it down for old 45/70 rifles.

Damn steel buttplate smarts.
The mosin has one too, but hurts nowhere as much as the 48. The Mosin is more of a shove vs a kick of the other.
