from an email i got :
there have been about 514 leap years since julius caesar invented it in 45 B.C.
without the extra day ever 4 years, today would be july 28, 2013.
the mayan calendar did not account for leap year.
so....technically, the world should have ended 7 months ago.

FWIW...the Mayan calender is more accurate than the Atomic clock.
They were far more advanced than the the Cesarean or the Gregorian calanders.....by far
Sorry to be a buzzkill ;)

So it basically did the same thing as the not so sophisticated leap year and the date is the date.... right?

Yes, yes, but nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. Our chief weapon is surprise!
