Golani safety issue

I have a golani sporter .556. It is a newer model. I'm having an issue with the thumb safety on the left side of the gun. It seems like the connector or connection between that and the safety on the right side of the gun is way to tight. I can operate the safety on the right side however it is tight and fairly difficult to move. Also the little nub that locks in place is scratching the hell out of the frame.
Any idea what could be causing this extra tightness in the safety

Sounds like the lever may be bent inwards towards the receiver so when assembled it binds......if you need further help let me know by PM and can walk you through it.
