Anyone noticed every few weeks a new Firefox comes out?

What should be maintenance releases (like 10.01, 10.02, etc...) now are bumped up by a whole version!

In the past few months I went from Firefox 3.6.3 to Firefox 11.0!

I wonder why they do that? Maybe people perceive that "Firefox 11" is better than "Internet Explorer 9" (well, it IS but that's not the point)... I wonder if people think "11" is better than "9"?

:wondering:

Yeah, its just plain ol' version inflation, because a lot of idiots only look at the version number when comparing browsers. Many Linux distributions have done the same thing over the years, trying to one-up the others.

There was some significant changes between Firefox 3.xx and 4.xx, but everything since has been minor, so we should still be on 4.xx, IMHO.

They want you to think it's always cutting edge. Also I think they want the version number higher than IE.

I think it's just a numbers game. Firefox "11" must be better than "10".... ?
