Well, got the newest addition to my G20 barrel collection :) This one is a 40S&W conversion model - Lone Wolf.

Fit is good! No slop - just like my Storm Lake barrels. You use the standard mags, so no extra cost there.

I now have stock sized and 6" 10 mm barrels and now this stock sized 40S&W conversion. I can get a 357 Sig and 7.62x25 barrels as well - not to mention ported and such, but I most likely won't go there.

It'll allow me to use the inexpensive and available 40 ammo for practice.

Looking forward to getting it to the range!

Good deal. I've got their 40-9 conversion barrel for my G35 and it works great.

Those 40-9 conversions are funky - if they work, then this should be a no-brainer. They actually have the chamber set off-center to make up for the smaller rim size.

The 10-40 is just a shorter case. Same thing for 357 Sig - same head size but with bottleneck case.

I might get a 357 Sig later - probably a 6" barrel to get max speed out of it - you can get 1500 fps with Power Pistol under a 115 grain bullet out of standard length barrels with that caliber - bascially a slightly larger diameter 7.62x25. I'd think that it would perform almost identical against body armor...

Just got back from the range - played hookie for a bit :) Shot a 100 count box of Winchester 165 grain (1080fps on box) through the new barrel.

Function = 100%
Shot just a tad high and a bit to the right (expected it to shoot a little higher)
Accuracy was on par with the 10mm barrels.
Used the stock 10mm mag - fed perfectly.

Interestingly, I have to agree with others that the recoil isn't much different than the full house 10mm loads... but I didn't shoot them side by side...

So, given this and the other great reports that I've read about these, I can whole heartedly recommend them.

All of my aftermarket barrels - Storm Lake and now this Lone Wolf have dropped in and functioned like the stock barrel.

Oh, and I have to correct an error in the OP - it's 9x25, not 7.62x25 that's also available.

What "full house" 10mm are you comparing it to? The only gun I have at the moment that I can shoot both 10mm and .40 S&W in is my S&W 610-2 revolver. With the Double Tap 180gr loads it rocks back pretty good and it's no lightweight. The only .40 S&W I've ran through it hae been 180gr WW target loads and they were like shooting .38 special in an N frame .357.

Well, the autoader must be different. I don't think the Winchester 175 grain Silvertips (almost full house) recoil much different than these 40 loads... Yes, there's a difference like less muzzle blast but the recoil doesn't seem that much less...

Winchester shows that load at 1290fps from a 5.5" bbl. That's within about 20fps of the 180gr Double Tap load in a G20. I didn't think Winchester was loading that stout. I may pick up a couple of boxes and see how I like it.
