WTH as long as I'm getting threads going for rivet and screw builds to help rebuild the database until the old info comes back, why not get one up and running about converting Saigas?:lool:

Who's still got their info, pics, etc on the conversion?

O.S.O.K.

I think this is a good thread, and Saiga conversion is the best thing going right now price and style wise.

I remember a thread from the old board that had links to a place selling a pretty straight forward conversion kit.

I don't remember the vendor but for some reason Memphis or Mississippi come to mind...:think2:

OK, I watched the video OSOK posted. Pretty damn simple. What about converting the hgs to take AK hgs?

I see the guy in the video didn't install a bullet guide. Any ideas why?

Someone buy/trade this thing dadburnit!:jump:

I see you're doing your research. What are you planning on building first?

My bank account...:jump:

Whatever happens first to be honest. If a Saiga shows up first, it'll be that. If a Draco shows up, I'll go that route.

Saw a Krink kit built into a pistol at the show yesterday. It looked really good and I was halfway interested until I realized the tag said $1350, not the $350 I thought I saw.

LOL I wish Krinks were $350 even a kit at that price would be better if you're wanting to build. So....let's dream on!!

I've decided to turn my Zombie killing AK rifle into a Zombie killer pistol.
Getting ready to press the barrel out in a few.
I'll have to get my Afghan lathe out to turn the journals for the gas block.
At least I'll be inside where it's cool.

Going to SBR?

Maybe some day.
Have to find a job first.

Good thing is, I have a spare pistol receiver on hand.
Just have to do the machine work.

OK, two questions:

I've seen fcg's listed as being modified for the Saiga. Do they not use a regular fcg like the RSA or G2?

Somewhere I saw a fore end conversion where you cut the handguard retainer off and replace it with a set up that looks like it uses 2 Allen head screws to secure the upper and lower retainers so you can use regular AK furniture. Has anyone used this and does anyone know where I saw it?:whacky110:

awp, I have no idea.
Saiga conversions are something I need to look into.
Never know when one will pop up at a good price.

Wish I could help you.

blob, it's just so I can run AK hgs. If I weren't concerned with getting "the AK look", the factory hgs would be just fine.

So what's the scoop on bullet guides? Use them if you want to go with AK mags or to solve general feed issues?

Here's a thought:

Combine it with their gas tube setup (that I don't have a link for right now) you can use originals.
