If you remember my last thread I was debating grip types, I went with a Kimber magwell, Ebony grips from Hogue, and an Edbrown GI recoil spring guide and plug. I also replaced the recoil spring and firing pin spring.

Let me know how you like it.

Alterate titles for this thread are "Playing Dressup" or, "What do guns and Barbies have in common? They are more fun with accessories"

Looking good. I just got back into 1911's. I had a sig gsr when they first came out but I never really played with it. The fact of the matter is I just don't shoot anything as well as I shoot 1911's or my USP.

Everytime I think I want something else I take a 1911 to the range and remember why it's my all around favorite gun.

I think I'm going to grab a pair of g10 grips to replace the walnuts on my remington.

I came close to putting G10s on this one. Check out www.vzgrips.com and actually http://www.getgrip.com/ (Hogue) for G10 grips.

I have a pair on my Wilson CQB and they are bad ass. I just wanted something a little different on this one. The ebony is nice.

The vz's are exactly what I had picked out. I also picked a wilson speed chute, hammer, grip safety and thumb safety.

The wilson speed chute is a lot narrower than the one I put on my Kimber.

If you go with magwell grips like mine they will over hang the side of the speed chute.

be careful with the rest of those parts. I am not sure what amount of fitting is required but I believe the hammer requires quite a bit for proper sear engagement.

Unfortunately with the 1911 many things are not direct drop in parts.

Yeah, I'm counting on doing some filing. I bought some jigs and stones and files. I figure if I take my time I can't butcher it too bad. I got the drop in grip safety until I have the balls to start cutting the frame.
