I understand the supply has dried up considerably and what's coming in has a demilled barrel (or no barrel at all) but does anyone carry AK kits on a regular basis anymore?

The only ones I see are on the other AK boards. Prices vary from $250 up depending on what variant.

Here's a kit in house.
About as cheap as you'll find.

Damn those kits are expensive w/ or without barrels.
Awp, your best bet would be from an individual, IMO.

Wow - a Saiga for $380 is looking better and better. Unless you want to make a pistol...

That's what I'm seeing. Went to a shop today that had Bulgy (UF) and Polish (FS) milled kits for ~$200 and AMD65s for $175. I thought about the AMD then really looked at the picture on the shelf. For your $175+tax you get the furniture, trunnions, rear sight assembly, gas block, muzzle brake, fcg (that probably won't be used), fsb, safety, top cover, bolt and carrier and maybe the small parts like pins and such. A receiver runs what, $75-100? Another $125+ for the barrel? By that time, you're into Saiga/WASR/used SAR territory and over that threshold if you don't have the tooling or any access to tooling. An included barrel assembly would make it a harder decision IMO.

If the shop had a x39 Saiga is stock, I'd have put it on layawake...:gruebel:

The PSL kit including the receiver would make an interesting project.
I’m picturing it with a shortened barrel and a pistol grip. :firedevil:

www.centerfiresystems.com has Romy AK-47 kits minus the barrel for $99. I got one 3 weeks, was all matching and like new parts. www.apexgunparts.com has new Romy barrels for $115. Apex also has East German, Bulgy and Eygptian kits for sale. Also they have PSL kits with and without recievers really cheap.Check them both out.
