View Full Version : Magazine deals a thing of the recent past?

Does everyone else remember the sales on magazines from the recent past, like back in September of 2005 when metal 30-round AK mags were selling like hot cakes for a few bucks each (and selling-out within a day or two), and the HK .308 aluminum mag sale at $1 each a year or two after that? I haven't seen any sales like these recently, and you'd think that with the influx of after-market magazines since the AWB that more of the older military mags would be going on sale. I'm wondering if the gun runs from the past couple of years have dried-up excess supplies of older mags. Or am I just missing-out on deals these days? It seems like it used to be quite often when someone would make a "magazine deal heads-up" post on the old Gunsnet. Any thoughts?

The $2 AK mag is gone... I've seen $6/$8 mags though. If you want the wholesale price at this point you will have to be a dealer and buy a pallet load.

I've seen good AR mags at $800 for 100.

H&K mags are still cheap if you shop around. Two & a pouch for $5 or so.

When the current panic buy ends, you'll see more deals on AR mags in my opinion.

Glad I'm stocked up this time. I was a poor college student in 1994 and was lucky to have a 1911 with 3 mags.

AWB was the first nail, then it was president zero. If zero gets another 4 years, ammo, mags, and weapons will double overnight (or worse). 0bama's plan is to attack the 2nd Amendment after re-election.
A DPMS Sportical in the $600 range will be a better investment than gold bullion. Remember how fast 'black rifles' and military pattern dried up in 2008? Ammo doubled before Barry Sotero could even take the oath of office.
'Status Quo' RINO Repugs suck but Marxist 'disarm the population' 0bama :hitler: and his commie friends suck harder. :sheeple:

I will NOT obey.Me neither. Unfortunately, the manufacturers will.

The last ban put a lot of manufacturers out of business.

I'd compromise for now by buying a half dozen to a dozen or so spares for now, and later hope to catch a sale.

As for me, I really am in pretty good shape in the mag department.

Ammo and spare parts are my main concerns.

Correct.

It put the only US company outta business, that could make 100% rugged and reliable, NON-AR mags. They made MP5, G3, HK33/53/93, Uzi and all kinds of other foreign designed mags. I cannot remember the name of 'em but they were based out of FL.

Sadly no US company can make anything noadays, but more AR mags......
