Hi all, new to this board but I am a member of the sksboard.A good forum to get info from. Have many guns myself and like to shoot as often as time and money let's me.I live in the New Orleans area, so any members around here we could meet at a local range and show off our toys! This looks to be a fun place to be.Thanks.

Welcome aboard! Interesting name. What odd calibers do you have or is it more a personnal reference?

Not quite odd, but becoming more rare. I can handle the personal reference though. Looking forward to seeing you in the discussions.

I've got a couple of mausers in 8mm too - only one is an old m38 Turk and the other a Yugo 24/47. I used to have a very nice k98 but I sold it... I also had several other Turks - back when they were $70/pop. Had a M48 Yugo too along with a Czech and Portuguese. Kinda wish I'd held onto them but I needed the money...

I know about selling guns because you need money more than the gun. My 2mausers are a VZ/24 and a C.G. Haenel Suhl 1917 date. Too bad bubba got the 1917 before I did.

Nothing odd about that. More 7.92(8mm) Mausers were cranked out than any other caliber bolt-action rifle in history.

I've got 2 as well. A German 1937 K98 and a 1944 Yugoslavian. Both great shooters.

Welcome to Gunsnet.
