Ran across these in a listing for an estate sale and was wondering what I should be looking for as far as condition and if they are in good order what the going rate for an M1 op rod is? They are listed as "new". Fulton Armory has them for $229.00 in excellent condition and if truly new I would think these would be worth at least that much.

IF they "SPEC" good, $90-100 Easy.

How do you "spec" them? I resume length and diameter of the end are important as we all straightness? Weren't there NM rods as well? I also recall reading about "uncut" op rods in my old GCA Journals. Those might be worth a premium as well. Enlarged it a bit and did some quick research. The 2nd from the top might be an "uncut" rod.

NM rods should have NM stamped right on the area in front of the cocking handle.

Get a caliper. measure the diameter actual piston itself on the end of the rod.

If it's above 0.5256 it's GOOD

Thank you. Found another place online that has op rods for about half of what Fulton is listing them for. Still, even if these aren't NM or "uncut" rods it might be worth it if I can get them as a lot for a decent price, say $40-$50 each?

$40-50 would be fair.

My biggest fear is that if I get these I'll end up picking up another Garand (sold both of mine off years ago) instead of getting rid of the op rods.
