Question 1: I careless smacked the rear sight of a polytech on a hard surface. Will this affect the accuracy of the rifle? Anyone else damaged their rear sight before?

Question 2: Can the rear sights be set at "half a click" where the ears do not fit into the grooves? Will this wear out the spring in the ears?

Thanks guys

#1 It could...

#2 I would not think it would hold zero like that. Recoil would change point of aim. At aimed AK ranges, we are talking 1" to 3" vertical anyway, not worth it...

Half a click? The rear sight is adjustable for range only, affecting vertical point of impact. Set the rear sight for the range you are shooting and adjust the front sight up or down by turning it in it's base to set the vertical point of impact.

If you damage the rear sight slightly by banging it on the side, again, adjust the front sight right or left to correct point of aim.
