Looking for stock lengthing options

What are my stock lengthing options for an AK variant? So far, all I can find are K-Var Nato length and the Ironwood with a butt pad. Any other options, manufacturers or ideas..???

They're used to be a replacement butt plate for an SKS that was about an inch thick, maybe more and made of rubber.

You just removed the metal buttplace and screw this one in it's place. If you can find one it might work on your AK, you'd loose access to the cleaning kit in the buttstock but it would gain you some more length.


Here's one for a Yugo SKS that allows access to the cleaning kit. Don't know if it would work or not?

Longer. I'm on the tall side and I am near sighted so I need to move the sights as far away as possible. I just want the iron sights no optics.

If you don't mind an adjustable buttstock the ATI Strikeforce stock has a reeeeeallly long length of pull. The longest i've ever held. So long that i think it's extremely uncomfortable in my hands and i'm about 6 foot. Kinda el cheapo though but not quite as cheap as Tapco.

A better quality option would be one of the VLTOR AK adjustable stock adapters. Only usable if your rifle has the rear tang intact though. You could stick any mil spec diameter buttstock over the tube that you like then.

I ordered this. To me the looks are acceptable, it works and it is cheap. There is also a hole for the cleaning kit channel door.

The picture is not my gun but that's what it looks like installed. It adds about an inch and a half to the buttstock length.

When i screwed it on, i put the metal buttplate underneath the rubber oad so I wouldn't lose it.

Thank you for posting this, I've been looking for a pic of an AK with one of those on it.

Century sells their AK-74s with long stocks that have the swivel on the bottom. The butt plate is soft and 'tacky'. It's at least NATO length if not more. I traded it to my taller neighbor for his Warsaw Pact size stock. I don't know who supplies their stocks.

Does Ironwood make something a bit longer? I thought they did.

UTG pad, as pictured above, came yesterday and it is a significant improvement in ergonomics.
