Changed the gas block, threaded the barrel, and refinished the wood (Minwax Red Oak stain and Amber Shellac)

Very nice! Now all you need is a correct Romanian pistol grip! :)

Oh, I've got it, but I took it off. I find US Palm and Command Arms grips VASTLY more comfortable. T ook it and shot it today, and no trigger slap. I was happy.

Nice - did that to several of them myself. That was my first foray into "building" - went on to kits after that. But that's where I stopped. Still have the jigs and such...be nice if inexpensive kits would come back... cheaper to just get a Saiga and convert that now...

But I still like the Romies.

I only threaded my barrel. I didn't think the bayonet lug was worth the gas port swap.
