I bought a Bravo Company scratch/demo upper to put together a 7.5" upper for my Bushmaster SBR out of spare parts I have lying around (just needed an upper receiver and a barrel, was looking for a deal on both). Tried out a Bravo Company scratch/demo upper receiver. Was very pleased. No more marks on it than I would put on just putting it together. Well worth $30 off.

I liked it so much I ordered another to swap out for the DPMS slickside on my 10.5" upper. Didn't mind the lack of a forward assist on the DPMS and wasn't worried about a dust cover on a range toy, but the DPMS was thicker than the lower (not tapered into the lower, just a big rounded bulge at the seam). Looked a little odd and was beefier and heavier than necessary.

The 7.5 is still waiting for the barrel and the 10.5 is still waiting for the Form 1 so I can add a stock.

It's a YHM pistol length ultra light rail with an Arcangel vertical grip.

how does t attach at teh front to the barrel or is it free-float?

Looking at it and having one YHM rail handguard set I'd say it is free floating on a special Barrel Nut that screws to the upper in place of the bicycle sprocket like barrel nut of a typical AR15.

That's it.

That thing must sound like a .50 bmg going off. 80% of your powder is going to be burning in the air at the muzzle. Don't forget to wear sunglasses, flash should be very bright. ;)
