How can people like that sleep at night?

I had a job like that in Marine boot camp; filling up buckets of sand, carrying them across the obstacle course and making a pile. Then i took the pile bucket by bucket back to the hole i just dug and filled it up. Hmmm, i wonder if my drill instructors got .gov funding for creating all that work for me.


What bothered me the most was how seriously the union guys took this. I couldn't watch it to the end, did any of the union guys even suggest that the work should be meaningful and provide a benefit to the citizens whose tax money they are wasting?
