Looking for Top Break Revolver

Im becoming really interested in these pistols.

Is there anybody making new top break revolvers in .32 or .38spcl preferrable in the 4-600 bones region?

If nothing new, whats some good old models I might be able to find for cheap?

Check out the Cowboy Shooting magazines on sale at many stores. They have a ton of ads that might have what you're looking for. They're making a big comeback at cowboy shooting events.

Harrington and RIchardson used to make top break double action revolvers. I have two rimfire models, but I don't know about center fire or their availability.

Go to gunbroker and do a search for Harrington and Richardson. Do another for H&R.

You'll find plenty of old guns.

Are those guns really that expensive, or is it just suggested retail? The .44 russian one looks nice, but they're listing the retail price at about 800.00. Seems steep, but they're nice looking guns.

Check their used handguns - they have Webley and Scott 380 (38 S&W) really nice revolvers - $295. They are designed to shoot 200 grain loads (around 700 fps or even a little less).

If I had spare coin right now, I'd get one...

I'd look for old S&W's. They made tons of them and they aren't particularly collectible in .32 or .38 S&W.

You could probably find one for between $150-300 depending on condition.

Harrington and Richardson, Hopkin and Allen, Iver Johnson all made them as well. Local gun shop here has an Iver 32 for about $75...although he probably will advise you not to shoot it.

For the old one's you definitely want something in good shape and use light loads.

Pretty much all the old top breaks in 32 or 38 fit into the "suicide special" category.

As far as new ones, they will all be big, full sized generally clones of the Russian and Schofield

This is the Webley 38 S&W (380-200) revolver that I was referring to. These are rugged, high quality revolvers. Very cool and like I said, I wish I could pop for one right now - especially at the $295 price.

I had a Webley Mk2 455 and I'd follow Kadmos's advice and find an old S&W.
