Finally just ordered myself a cold steel spike hawk. I've been trying to get one from a local store, but apparently their distributors were out of stock.

Pics will come when it gets here in the next week or so... Now I gotta figure out how I'm going to mod it. Pull the set screw, and fit the head... What else?

If you were Printerman, I'd say you needed a tip-off scope mount, tactical scope, quad rails, recoil pad, sling, two lights, laser sight, and bottle opener. ;)

However, Cold Steel makes fine stuff. That hawk should last you two lifetimes. Can't wait to see the pics.

Let us know how you like it. Been looking at the Vietnam Tomahawk myself as well as this Benchmade model.

Big difference in price between the two.

A popluar mod is to strip the black paint with some kind of thinner and engraving the flats of the blade ala "frontier style".

I've been wanting to get one of their pipe hawks with just that treatment in mind for a while.

Let us know how it looks when it gets there!

HRm... Engraving... I wonder what options I have for that. I'm pretty sure I'm going to strip the black paint off. Question is.. to stay traditional, or go modern with paracord wraps and such?
