Looks like they are on backorder at the moment but saw them advertised in the latest Guns & Ammo. In the magazine ad they list them as built with USGI Springfield receivers and BM59E parts kits graded at 90%. IIRC the BM59 mags are kind or pricey and not exactly plentiful.

For that price I would jump all over one VS the $ and time to build one from a kit.

That offering is news to me. Didn't know anybody was making a repo BM59 rifle.

That looks cool from a colectable standpoint, but function and price wise isn't that about the same as a Sprinfield M1 Scout?

The cheapest M1A I found at Buds guns was was $1,337.00. The M1A, even at $250 more is probably the better deal from a strictly shooter standpoint

UPside.. replacement parts are plentiful

Mags are abundant BUT about $48 a pop. ( they take advantage of these like they did the Ar70 mags)

I used to have a full-auto Beretta BM59. The one for sale doesn't look anything like one of the old BM59/BM62 rifles. These are some spare BM59 parts cobbled onto an existing Garand. It isn't collectible at all.

The original BM59 rifles were made out of Garands given to Italy and modified by Beretta. Some of the parts are new manufacture Beretta parts, some are modified Garand parts, and a few are unmodified Garand parts. The resulting rifle is much shorter than the one in the ad, has a grenade launcher sight, a tri-compensator (combination flash hider/muzzle brake/grenade launcher), and an integral bipod, and the stock is shaped different, and a lot of other internal differences.

The rifle in the ad isn't a BM59 parts kit assembled on a Garand receiver (which people used to do), it is a Garand that's had the minimum modifications to take a BM59 mag and been re-chambered for .308. Huge difference. It doesn't even use a real BM59 barrel (it would be a lot shorter). It might be a fun shooter, but I wouldn't pay $1079 for it, and I wouldn't call it a BM59 either.
