I was in the process of looking over the online form and it clearly states that if you are not in possession of a valid hunting license, you cannot be a licensee.
I am legally able to own a firearm, but I don't happen to have a hunting license and haven't had one in more than ten years.
Thanks.

That's weird.
Taken from the C&R FFL application.
Are you in possession of a valid hunting license or permit lawfully issued in the United States?
1. If you answered "NO," you likely cannot lawfully possess a firearm and therefore cannot be a federal firearms licensee.
