View Full Version : Stock change question
I have a yugo m70 ab2 underfolder and would like to change it to a wood stock. Can this be done? What parts will I need and where can I find them? I have a tantal so I would like to change the yugo to wood furniture if possible. I am new to ak's so I could use some help. Thanks

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:
To convert from underfolder to fixed stock would require replacing the rear trunion with one for a fixed stock. That would require cutting or drilling out the rivets from the rear trunion and removing it, and installing and riveting the fixed stock trunion in place. It would also be advised to cover the folder holes in the receiver with plates. There were many early 1990 Chinese AKs that entered the country with underfolding receivers, and Bush-hole stocks installed to make them "less evil". The folder holes had plates over them that were held in place by a long rivet.
In short, it can be done even though there is a fair amount of work required to do it.
Thanks, I guess I will have to buy another ak. LOL Thanks again
