This is a few pictures of my under folder builds and some pictures of the AMMS going through the finishing process. The Polish PKMS is a build I did several years ago. I just got tired of maintaining the Parkerizing and decided to give it a coat of KG. The AMMS was a kit I purchased from a fellow Guns net member about 3 years ago. I got in under the wire and was able to get a matching # NDS-1P for it. It also has the correct Hungarian selector markings.

Awe that's beauiful! I have a soft spot for Hungarian AKM types as they were the first ones I ever owned. Great job from what I can tell, you should be proud!

Thank you everyone for the compliments.
Due to the political situation and the rush it caused at the time, the Yugo and the AMMS where tough to get the receivers for. I saved them for the last AKM builds because they where my favorites.
All I have left now is a beautiful Polish RPD kit and a mint South African FAL kit. I’m still working on getting the extra cash to get the receivers for them, but one day they will be resurrected. :biggrina:

LOL
It’s just one of many hobbies.
I know you do some finish work as well. If you ever need to use that blast cabinet or tanks, you’re more than welcome to come up and use them. The best part about it is the test range is right out back. so bring plenty of ammo. :fighter2:

Nice folder collection you have there!!!!

As most here know, I have a soft spot for the AK underfolders, having a nice collection myself. At one time I posted a photo of them, but this is your thread, and you have some nice stuff worth bragging about!!!

Damn Blacksmith, you finished all of those rifles already? I have to say, I really want to check out that AMMS. It looks great in the pics, but im sure it still looks better in person. Maybe if I bring some ammo, you'll let me shoot her?

Also, next time I head out i'll bring my new AK-74 I picked up a couple weeks ago. Introduce you to the 5.45 round if you haven't shot it yet?

Come on out and we will hit the range! neither the yugo or the AMMS has been fired yet, so we can break them in when you get here.

Kick ass, dude. Looks really good. I got one of the AMMS kits a coupe of years ago. Nice kit, I was really surprised at the condition. I figured it would be one of the high-use kits that came out, but it was almost in unfired condition.

It's the one in the center dressed up in Russian wood:

Thanks. Since I’ve become retired, that shop has been getting well used.

Nice collection!
From what I understand there was only 700 of the Hungarian AMMS’s imported. A truly rare variation.
I like the Romy under folder you have there. I almost bought one of those kits but wound up spending all my toy money on something else.

Much like 'Nut, I've got a thing for AK folders. What you see there is just my undefolder collection. I've got a similar number of side folders as well.

That MD-63 kit was bought from CTD, of all places. Wish I would've got into the AKMS kits everyone was offering, but WTH you know. The only store bought folder in that pic is the pre-89 Clayco (though not by me, I got it FTF w/box, papers, and accessories for a grand from a guy who needed the $$$). Everything else is from a kit.

Yip
Those where the same kits I was looking at. They came out right at the beginning of the building frenzy and the shortage it was causing. IIRC they only had them for a day or two at $149.00? before they sold out.
I remember the days you could pick up a mint condition AMD 65 kit on e-bay for around $40.00 and the going rate on the Romy G kits where below $70.00. The good old days. :cigarsmoking:

Ahh yes, the good ole days. Where parts kits were cheaper than a case of ammunition and in some cases, more plentiful...
