I've tried the Aquila (sp?) mini 12 ga slugs. They are only about 1 inch long.

What I've found:

* Lots more fit in the mag tube
* Feeding reliability is iffy (in my Rem 870)
* They kick as hard as a full sized shell
* They're cute

Unless you can find an action that they will work reliably in, they're pretty much useless.

Only seen them in a store once, I'd have to special order and the price was almost the same as the 2 3/4" shells. Think I'll wait till the price comes down and/or they make them in 20 gauge. When I pick up the 12 I'm usually real serious about shooting something and that means all the get up and go I can get. My play gun is the 20.

Now if only Ruger wold make a 20 gauge Super Blackhawk revolver I'll be the first one at the door in the morning. Or Redhawk or Single Six or...well you get the idea, a mini shotshell in a handgun in a bore not a caliber, now that would be a snake gun.

The ones I tried wouldn't feed from my 870.
