Had this gun since about 1992 and it has no factory markings only a serial number and the importer stamp.
The serial number is 8708200 and the impoter stamp says GOLDEN STATE ARMS DIST MANHATTAN BEACH CA
AK47S 7.62x39
MADE IN CHINA
I have taken this gun apart and it has NO markings on any of the parts other than what you see above except for what looks like the number 2 on the left
side of the barrel under the hand guard. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

I made a mistake...again...I was mistaken about the last one...they sold by the pallet full at $75@ at the Great Western Gun Show in LA, CA. A lot of the three hole variety came in with them, the Chinese simply put sa parts in a fa receiver...I stand corrected.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

OK, I see a very nice, very legal, very early Norinco. They were semi-auto only versions of the 56 but since the Chinese knew there was a huge market in the US, they decided originally to use the US name for the Soviet Avtomat Kalashnikova, which never used the "-47". The early Chinese imports were marked in variations of "AK-47/S", "AK47S", as well as other variations.

There is nothing illegal about your really nice rifle. The only issue, which really might not be anything is that usually the Chinese underfolders had a "-1" after the model designation, but as I have said before, with the Chinese, the only rule was there are no rules.

Check the barrel closely. Sometimes Norinco is stamped in very tiny letters there.

In truth, you have a very nice collectible there!!!
