Remington Buys TAPCO

Posted on November 2, 2012 (http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/11/daniel-zimmerman/remington-acquires-tapco/) by Dan Zimmerman (http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/author/daniel-zimmerman/)

Did you see where Disney bought Lucasfilm (http://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-news/press-releases/2012/10/disney-acquire-lucasfilm-ltd) this week? They’ll be producing a new Star Wars Episode VII now, too. We can only hope that the $4 billion (that’s billion with a ‘b’) paid to ol’ George will keep him so busy diving into his coinage a la Scrooge McDuck (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://ulife.vpul.upenn.edu/careerservices/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/scrooge-mcduck.jpg&imgrefurl=https://ulife.vpul.upenn.edu/careerservices/blog/2010/08/27/what-am-i-worth/scrooge-mcduck/&h=316&w=400&sz=64&tbnid=-JFyVu6kTa4ozM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=114&zoom=1&usg=__D0ciZtribXrzWtIucqGsm4jgluQ=&docid=hhdLK5dm0uSJvM&itg=1&sa=X&ei=0vyTULvAFuaryQHpx4HACw&ved=0CEYQ9QEwAw&dur=416) that the new flick will spare the movie-going public another Jar Jar Binks (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Jar%20Jar%20Binks)-like fiasco. Speculation is George cashed out before the end of the year to avoid higher capital gains taxes that kick in January 1. And maybe that’s what’s behind TAPCO’s decision to go over to the Freedom Group dark side now, too. Nick seemed to think (http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/09/foghorn/gear-review-tapco-intrafuse-furniture-for-the-ar-15/) their budget-priced AR furniture is pretty OK. But things may change in Kennesaw once TAPCO’s been fully pulled into the FG mother ship by that tractor beam of cash. Careful boys, that’s no moon . . . Press release after the jump.

Does this mean that Crapco's folding stocks are going to snap in half after firing 100 rounds instead of 200 now?

As long as they keep making G2 triggers, I won't really care.

they will, but they'll make the old century triggers look like geissele and cost $49.99 a set
