I personally wouldn't touch it. Too custom, no spares for that funky gas piston.

That link is all I found and it talks about it being full auto. I don't know the one you posted is the same thing or a semiauto clone?

they did this to semis and F/A to M14/M1a's and Garands.

It's all custom work for each rifle so I'd pass .

there was ANOTHER company that made these/sold conversions awhile back too . UNLESS it's a SUPER deal, I'd pass.

My M-14, bring back, had a selector and a Sionics but it sucked on FA...much better on semi and the best rifle the US issued...and may go back to. I've caried M-1 Garands, Browning AR rifles, A-6 configuration Browning light machine guns...and others, in combat and am grateful that I never had to mess with the M-16...way after my time. The M-14 is the one to have...unless you can afford an FG-42 in 7.62X51...scoped.

$4300 is on par if it is a Smith job.
Remember, it was $3000 just for the conversion .

yes, at the time these were offered most of the M1A's on the racks were higher quality than that of today and still had a $1200-1600 price tag.

and for $4300 the guys probly just breaking even.

Keep in mind like Schuetz said, the gas system on these is totally custom . If something goes wrong ANYWHERE it's gonna cost a small fortune.
I'd leave it to the hardcore collector.

I only meant that you should determine for yourself what you like and don't like.

His rifle may have worked great for him, but may be something other than what your looking for.

If you can put up with the cost and the weight, then go for it.

I've been drooling over a M-14 style M-1a ever since I watched Full Metal Jacket as a kid.
