i recently got a zastava pap, i traded a winnebago i got for $80(from a relative) for it.
the guy i got it from did a double stack mag mod. its a ugly looking dremel/mill job, wasnt very much attention to detail. he did it semi-right though, as he didnt go too deep into the reciever. instead he filed the mag down. so it could be cleaned up and evened out on a real mill or cnc. it doesnt have any issues. it fires, cycles, ejects, loads just fine.

i just have a lingering thought in my head something could screw up eventually. im thinking of trying to find a stock reciever and going back to single stack mag, sending it to twinrivers to finish the mill job,or getting a new double stack reciever.
i cant find a stock reciever as parts new, eaa no longer has parts or access to them for the pap, anyone got one?
what recievers would be compatiable with the rest of my rifle?
anyone have experience, info or advice?

so far ive cleaned it up, coated the stock, mags, grips in olive drab. ive polished out the trigger, bolt, mag release. ive put 80-100 rounds through it.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

Personally I would take it to a machinist or gunsmith to finish the mag well properly for a standard AK mag. Actually if you are good with a dremel and a couple of files you can finish it up yourself. The receiver metal is pretty hard, but can be carefully filed down nicely by hand if you take your time.

Just to let you know, I have a lot of respect for someone who is willing to admit it is safer to take something to someone who knows what they are doing than risk ruining something with pride but little or no ability. :thumbspbig: Or just smart enough to know when to say when!

Even a dremel can take off too much. I had to have some welding done to put back some metal when I was putting in my adjustable red star arms trigger on a SA-93. Perhaps a rat tail file can be your best friend. Having said that, if the magazines load and unload smoothly and they feed into the barrel without jamming, why change it? "Looking ratty" doesn't mean its broken. Don't fix it until it breaks & IMHO if it ain't broke, don't fix it at all!!

Did you ever remove the stock? I want to get to the bolt that runs through it but am afraid to break the butt pad.

just be careful. with gunsmith screw drivers, go slow and thoughtful.
