PortentsAccording to Moojan Momen, among the most commonly reported signs that presage the advent of the Mahdi in Shia Islam are the following:

The vast majority of people who profess to be Muslim will be so only in name despite their practice of Islamic rites and it will be they who make war with the Mahdi.
Before his coming will come the red death and the white death, killing two thirds of the world's population. The red death signifies violence and the white death is plague. One third of the world's population will die from the red death and the other third from the white death.
Several figures will appear: the one-eyed Antichrist (Masih ad-Dajjal), the Al-Harth, Al-Mansur, Shuaib bin Saleh and the Sufyani.
There will be a great conflict in the land of Syria, until it is destroyed.
Death and fear will afflict the people of Baghdad and Iraq. A fire will appear in the sky and a redness will cover them.

According the shia believes.

Well...I just plain believe every word of that shia shit...it's all true...so paint US red, white, and blue...because it's true. Who cares about what some wog believes because they don't matter in this exciting and enlightened world we have surrounded them with...they should all crawl down into the 'well' with the mahdi!

It is not a question as to whether we believe, its more a question regarding those who oppose us and call us the great saten who may or may not believe. Or worse, believe that giving things a gratuitus push may in fact speed their perceived end times up.

Be proud of our enemy, there is nothing half way about them, they hate US with a perfect hatred and live only to die destroying Us, making it all the easier for US to respond in kind and perfectly. Let them, our enemy, die the perfect death...and soon...no more delays, please.

There have been a lot of prophets and portents about the end times, and, so far, none of them have panned out. I'd place this with that long list of unlikely-to-be-fulfilled-prophesies and move on.

Local so called prophets come and go. Most of the time they are harmless. Sometimes they do great harm such as David Koresh or Jim Jones of Jonestown fame. Yet this is rather different. What I cited is islamic tradition dating back to the 7th century AD and has passed as gospel ever since. A little different I would think.

Guile and gullibility with 'some' showmanship thrown and an understanding of the audience that yields to their whims and superstitions.

Just as some Christians predicted the end of the world, and the Second Coming, in 1968, this prediction would be in the same category. Not really that different, except for the religion it comes from...

Well! We can certainly help them along with their 'religious' matters...by nuking islam and all its adherents back to the days of ore when rock salt was more valuable than ore. Yes, we, US, can help...and put a finish to this mess forever.

These parts were simply lifted from the Book of Revelations, though I suppose one can give them imagination points for making the antichrist "one-eyed".

So this pirate with a hook, a wooden leg and an eye patch walks into a bar and orders rum.

After a bit, the guy next to him says, "Sorry to be nosy, but I was curious as to how you got that wooden leg."

"It 'twas a full broadside from another ship...a cannon ball took me leg off at the knee."

Then they guy asks, "So how'd you get the hook?"

"Twas in a sword fight after we boarded a ship one time...bloke took me hand right off."

Finally the guys asks, "How about the eye patch?"

"Got that the first day I had me hook."

Let's face it, the vast majority of us on here have turned into the minority in this country. Most of our religious and family values along with political points of view were not represented in this last election. I know the Muslims lump us all in when they call us "The Great Satan" but look at what we've become morally. Take a guy in the Middle East who gets a TV for the first time and let him watch our cable channels. Within the first hour he'll see homosexuality, drug addicts, murder, rape and various forms of porn and the list can go on. Why would anyone want their kids exposed to that?

I don't excuse what these animals do to us but as a parent I can't say that we could be called "The Great God worshipers" either.

I've always said: conservative Christians and conservative Muslims have far more in common than not.

They should be natural allies against the "godless forces that threaten faith everywhere."

Woe is the day for non-believers if ever all the world's religious people united against us. (Like that will ever happen! Religious people love fighting each other over whose god is the best too much for that! ;) )

Nah, the christers would have to accept 'dhimi' status and be subservient to the islamites...and well, hell, you just have to know they won't do any such thing.

Sweet jesus that is a broad and bold statement. I have never heard anyone christians no matter how fervant preaching war and death. I may not be a bible thumping evangalist, but I do not preach war and death against anyone and I honestly can say I never heard of a single who who has, who is a honest christian. Christianity is ultimately one of forgivness, never mind the fact it has been misaligned and its message distorted and abused in the past. Try looking for forgivness in islam. Its either your muslim or your the enemy. Sorry, but I have to say bull pucky on your premise.

Are you out of your fucking mind? Seriously, the christers have preached killing from the beginning...when WW-II was going on japs were the target of the churchey crowd and it was all about killing the heathen bastards for 'jesus' from every pulpit in the South...I was there and I remember.

If the christers wanted to do something useful they could start a 'crusade' against islam and all of its adherents...that is what they want from the christers so I say 'give it to them' and make US all happy.

I feel a follow up is necessary. To those who would accuse me of hate, allow me to state I do not. I have concerns regarding islam as a distorted enterpretation of the followers of Abraham. Yet I have known practicing muslim whome I have great personal respect and would never wish them harm. Yet, If faced with threats to my country, my way of life, my freedom, my property and ultimately my life i will stand my ground. Thats not a threat, thats a honest honorable statement.

A bit of both. Not being a christer myself it is easy to point out 'your' past...and while I'm here for fun, enlightenment goes with the travel...like you, I have never met a muslim that I didn't like, it hurts me that they only live to wish me harm...furthermore, they are not followers of Abraham, they claim to be his descendants through Ishmael...and we through Issac.

to quote our lord.

We pray to someone
But when it's said and done
It's really all the same
With just a different name

So many voices
All giving choices
If we listen they will say
Oh, we can find the way
