What is the lever on the frame there behind the cilinder. It almost looks like a safety. Is it ot break the action open to reload it or what?

It's a break open lever. It also has a cross bolt hammer stop safety.....not originally on these guns.

Price wise. What is the acceptable price in very good condition.

OK....we cannot go by the price of $20 per pistol in 1960. Inflation brought them up to $295 with out handpick status. Mine was $320.30 delivered. It's a little high but the best I could get and I WANTED the pistol. I'm OK with it.

I have some ammo.....but now must search for more.

Nice gun. I've always wanted one of those. What caliber is yours?

Looks like the .38 cal. model. Nice revolver mr.mitch. Were the safety's added for import or did the Brits actually think adding them was a good idea?

Do they have .455's available? I saw the 38 cal Webleys on their website but I have an Enfield that is similar enough to not want the Webley. I've been looking for a .455 for a while. SOG had one listed in their flyer but it was sold when I called about it.

It is a .38 s&w (short sometimes called).
The added cross bar hammer stop is in the middle of the breakdown lever.
I had two from Interarmco in Alexandria, Va in 1960 that were $20 each.

$300 is about the going price and I have seen them for $500.

O.S.O.K.

Those are actually chambered for 380/200 British - but it just a 38S&W loaded with 200 grain bullets.

I have one for sale at the local funshop = one of the comando enfields - but its the same design.
