Picked up this wasr10 from my local gun shop Monday night. Been wanting one for a while and im glad i finally got my hands on one! So far everything seems pretty legit with it, numbers matching for the most part, has the triangle arrow on it, and the mags have literally like no wobble at all which i am quite happy about (came with 2 metal 30rd mags and i bought 2 30rd tapco mags with it). The front sight and gas tube seems to have a slight "cant" to them, hopefully this will not effect the performance or hurt the accuracy to much. I cant wait to run some rounds through this thing this weekend!!!! As for mods the only thing i have planned right about now is a slide-fire stock for it.

Welcome to the group !!! :welcome:

The WASR is a good starter AKM. I always enjoy getting one just to refinish the wood into something that looks more expensive than it is. As for a slight cant in the gas and sight blocks, a little in the gas block is ok as long as the gas piston doesn't rub against it and cause it to short cycle. The gas piston should be loose on the bolt carrier. Unfortunately many that Century imported and then modified to use standard AK mags had the piston welded to the carrier, and if it wasn't on straight, and the gas block canted just right, it could cause problems. Firing the rifle is unfortunately the only way to find out.

As for the sight block, that is usually just a looks thing, with most AKs that have even severly canted sight block still shoot to point of aim.

Enjoy your new rifle!!!

With a little sight-straightening and muzzle re-crown, my WASR is shooting as well as some top-dollar AK's. I am quite satisfied with it overall.

Welcome to Klub Kalashnikov! Here's a site put up by one of our members: http://www.novarata.net/Linx310/model.shtml

It has some great tutorials in it concerning your Romy rifle, including fixes for cant, trigger slap, etc..

I have and have had quite a few 'expensive' rifles over the years...and I still love my WASR! They are fine rifles and you'll love yours. Enjoy.
