She is a little rusty around the mag and muzzle, but it should rub out. Looks to be a reburb... I've wanted one since I was a kid but never bought one. $250 OTD...

Did you walk out with that or are the police still chasing you?

BTW, I didn't think there were any more assault rifles available.

Nice Enfield Carbine. Only down side is going to be finding the ammo for it.

How in all of "Texas" can you be delayed?

Never got a CCW... and don't have a C&R...

Never figured I needed permission for a God given right... Guess I should just to not deal with this shit...

I also have bought mostly private lately... and have not been delayed in maybe 4-5-6 years...

The best part of CCW is the out the door with a new toy.

Sportsman's guide has S&B and Privi for +/-$15.00/box...

Doubt I'll shoot it much. May hunt pigs with it...

These are .310 bore aren't they? I was thinking of ordering some bullets.

I've always bought .311 150 gr. when I reloaded for the 303.

.311 as Slamfire said is the proper diameter for the Enfields.

Forget the complimentary safety lock, I hope they give you ear plugs with that thing!

Nice carbine, BTW.

Most of the ammo I'm seeing on line is the 180 grain. Think I'll buy a 200 lot of ammo and a few hundred bullets... That should do me. I'll likely use it where most use a lever gun around here...

ELC, I failed to mention the No.5 is a beaut. Congrats.
I bought one at Big K many years ago out of a barrel for $40.
I miss those days.

I tried to talk my father into letting me have a No 5 when I was 8 or 10 years old. IIRC, I had about $15 and it was in the $20/$25 barrel at Woolco's Department store. It was what started the interest in military arms. Now 40 years later I buy one at 10x what it was back then...

I just bought a "#5" for my dad. $50.00 for helping a friend sort through some rifles that dropped into his lap.

Nice rifle! I have a seller on Armslist thinking of selling me his 1894 winchester 30-30
Wood is rough, metal is worn, just what I'm looking for. I need a project gun to start
up my sons interest in working on firearms.
Good luck, pics when you finish?

I'm thinking at this point all I need to do is a detail cleaning and try it out... Every thing seems in order and working, I just need to get it in the shop and check it in detail...

I am thinking strippers, pouches and a repro bayo...

This one's seen better days, definitely not an original, and some screwball sunk a Coast Guard medallion of some sort into the buttstock. BUT, dad's got a ton of good reloaded .303 ammo and hasn't had a beater rifle in a long time. Worst case scenario, he'll have something to complain about and sell eventually.
Yours looks pretty good, ELC!

Just found this pic of a few years ago.
I bought it in the condition you see.
It's been refurbed by some one for sure.

That is still a hell of a deal... I checked Numrich, you would be surprised how easy it might be to restore...

Slam, is that 7.5" from receiver to barrel band... looks longer... I think you may have a No. 4 to No. 5 conversion....

Could be.
No way to verify since I sold it.

Bought two boxes of S&B .303 on the way home with the rifle. One box 150 SP, one box 180 FMJ and picked up a Winchester 180 SP the day I bought the rifle. The S&B was $21/Box and the Winchester was $39...

Just looking at the bore & chamber... dust and sharp, shiny rifling... looks hardly fired.

OK, I suck... Peep site 100 yards, one in the 8 ring, three more on paper and two on the box out of six.

I didn't think it kicked bad at all... The 180 pushed a little more than the 150... I think I'll stick with 150 for reloads if they group ok...

My buddy in his thirties held the site wrong and grouped dirt about 1' above the target... LMAO!

I liked it... might have to get a #4...
