Stuff is getting real hard to find! $8-10 a 30 round box is piss poor. Sorry I built a 74.

Don't feel bad. Right now there is no caliber of any kind to be found. Just wait until the panic dies down.

Wasn't that long ago that everyone was buying up tantals because 5.45 was everywhere and cheap.

I'm glad I stocked up a while back!

as of 5 minutes ago Aimsurplus had some... They have it and then they do not, either they sell out fast or they only release a little at a time...

Some how I doubt they are pretending to run out. When I was a dealer I bought tons of ammo from them over the years. You wouldn't believe how fast they sell mil surp ammo even without a massacre to spur panic buying. It often took less than a couple weeks to sell out millions of rounds of 7.62x39 Portuguese or South African without a panic and that was only 1 caliber.

Reminds me of 2008.

Its jacked up but its not $500. I say get it if you need it, cause the panic buying isn't going to stop until the news and government stops talking about gun control, and that doesn't seem likely anytime soon.

At least its soft point.

it is all over gunbroker, i have decided that people are buying ammo and mags up and putting them on gunbroker ad just letting the bidding war go. i got lucky and found a case locally for $225.

just dropped $420 on a full case of ruskie surplus (2160) from J&G Sales, not $500 but real close to it.

Was that the corrsive stuff?

I'll tell y'all about the corrosive surplus stuff. I have shot about 210rds out of my SAR2 about 6 months ago, and I just got around to cleaning it the other day. No rust of any kind. Either the oil/lube I used prevented that, or it really isn't that bad. Plus it is the best shooting fodder available in 5.45x39mm.

Pretty sure it is, isn't just about everything ruskie corrosive.... So far I've had good luck with the russian 5.45 surplus in the Sar and the Tantal, much better luck than compared to commercial ruskie 7.62. The sar is chrome lined but the tantel is not but shouldnt matter much as they get cleaned before put away.

J&G now says sold out.

I know where about 300lbs of it is.... :santa2:

I might buy some more tomorrow since I think I'm the only guy in the area with a 5.45 gun.

Its a hoot of a round to shoot and light enough to do so all day. Really can't go wrong even at $200 per thousand compared to the alternatives.

Good to know it's becoming available again - I have a good amount but wouldn't mind getting a few more cases.

Bought two cans, enough for me for a while. Just built an AR 74 to shoot this stuff...Spikes upper. Also have the Ak74 should hold me till ammo comes down to earth. Grabbed another 4 bricks of 22 LR to hold me also....so allset for a hunker down.
If I want to conserve ammo I'll just move to my high powered airguns......lots of pellets on hand. As long as the dive shop can fill my tanks I'm happy not to have to use the hand pump or magnum springers.
