Where would I find statistics on medical malpractice fatalities for 2011? A factoid poster is being challenged and malpractice is the only non-violent, non-substance abuse related statistic so it is harder to find.

The nature of the system makes it pretty much impossible to get anything close to accurate information.

The vast bulk of cases are settled out of court, and non-disclosure agreements are standard in out of court settlements.

There have been a couple of studies though, I'm not sure how much I would rely on them though. The last I heard was a few years back claiming a little under 200,000 per year

Ok so in 2004, they figured 195,000 a year.
