View Full Version : What's the largest metalic cartridge caliber that you reload?

I'm talking caliber - diameter of the bullets and if you have two of the same caliber, then defer to the one that generates the most kinetic energy.

For me, its the 500 S&W.

It's not the most powerful cartridge that I load but it is the largest.

Here is a loaded cartridge next to a cast boolit, next to 44 and 35 caliber boolits respectively.

.45 ACP and .45 Colt for largest diameter in a pistol.

.416 RemMag in a rifle. I was loading .45-70, but traded away that rifle.

above are pics of .454 factory Hdy 240 XTP VS some hard cast .45 colt lite loads on a log I did a little test for someone on another site a long time ago ..


.454 casull and .270win Now that i consolidated my calibers.

.348, I haven't tried reloading for the .410 or 10 gauge yet.

Oops, forgot the 45 ACP is larger diameter.

abpt1 I have a taurus raging bull in 454 casull is this your machine. Just wanted to point out the double locks on the cylinder.

Yes I have that I love that pistol ! but my 340pd with 158gr mags kicks twice as hard! I also have A WIN 94 in .45lc

It is very tough wood I have a piece of that i saved in my shop that I use my bullet puller on!
