Maybe if we remember the name of this site is "Gunsnet" and we stuck to discussions about firearms first and foremost?

I haven't looked at all the threads that were deleted, but I will say openly that I have seen other firearm site not putting up with what we allow here. We (the administers of this site) allow a lot of stuff that most other firearm sites do not. Remember, even though this is a public forum this is still a privately owned site, and due to that the first amendment does not apply, yet we allow more than most other, if not all other firearm websites.

Maybe if we stuck to firearm discussions, and remained on a professional level in the open forums, we would be able to rebuild to the way this site was a decade ago.

Want to talk trash, we have a Roadhouse for that.

Differences in point of view are natural in any venue, but civility is what separates the good from the others. I didn't have a hand in the threads you are talking about, but this site will not stand for racial slurs and other like talk.

But I too can't see what threads were deleted. But I would NOT call this forum out for censorship. We put up with a LOT of divergent opinions that other boards would never tolerate. So I assume the threads actually violated some sort of rule.

Actually I know that, and like the idea of a forum just for off firearm discussions. Most websites have them, called "The Lounge" or "Break Room" or something else to indicate non-firearm related discussions belong here. The difference between theirs and ours is that they don't allow the types of discussion that we do and don't tolerate anything that even seems mildly heated, off color or off-key.
