Well that is one advantage the 1911 has, they are more dog-proof.

Seen this on another forum.

According to the article a guy's pitbull got hold of it.

The OP bought it for cheap and chopped it down to hold G26 mags.

Clearly the weapon wasn't secured well for a dog to get ahold of it.

Not sure I would have posted that. I had a Captain that called that "being stupid in a public place".

Interesting idea to fix it though.

there's something about certain polymers that drives them nuts.

Yeah I don't think he's gonna win any awards for proper gun storage.

got any clue how fast a dog will chew shit up??

especially a young dog, if they want it they will get it.

My dog leaves my 1911 alone BUT....... he's tried once already to eat my Kahr.

Oh yeah I've owned a few dogs over the years, and lost shoes, books, etc......to being chewed on.

Never really would have thought about a gun though.

Actually must not be that rare, the pics are from a thread that was linked by a guy on another forum who's Glock was also chewed up by his dog.

That is definitely something to think about if you own polymer guns and have dogs, like you say it only takes a couple of minutes for them to destroy something by chomping on it.

That just convinced me to spray my G22 with dog repellent.

HA! my 1911 is dog proof.

J/K I'd be madder than hell if that happened to me.

Maybe he has a digital keypad on his safe and the dog got lucky :)

Well, you know what they say. If you sit a monkey in front of a typewriter (showing my age here) and let him pound away at the keys, eventually he will type out Shakespeare.

I believe the proper term is "stippling"

Well as stippling jobs go that's not the worst I've ever seen.

Was the dog "accidentally" place in proximity with the Glock so that later you could "accidentally" find this web page? http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=4424 or maybe this one http://www.ccfraceframes.com/advantage.php

If LWD ever comes out with the 20/21 version I might just get one of those. Just a plain one though I'm not into pretty little designs.

I don't think I'm gonna let a dog chew up my old frame just to have an excuse, although it is a thought.

Lordy. I'm not sure what I would do if I found that.
