Many of the bases we turned over in Iraq just got pillaged by the locals. The convoy I was escorting out of Al Taqaddum was one of the last to leave before the mobile security forces staged on the outside perimeter picked up stakes. The military left everything that wasn't sensitive in nature. The locals raped that place when we left.
