Someone at WW is sure trying to run that organization out of business fast. First the gun debacle and now this???!!

Madison had saved up a few coins. But yesterday the organization emailed the Christian school stating WWP does not accept donations from companies that are religious in nature because they are is a nonpartisan organization.

Late Friday afternoon, the church's pastor told NewsChannel Five that a representative from WWP called him.

The representative apologized and said he would be meeting with other administrators from the organization to talk about this incident.

When we hear the rest of the story, and both sides, then we can decide if we donate or not.:santa2:

I've given a bit now and then. Might have to rethink considering a monthly donation.

I read another thread about this somewhere else and it seems that WW might be slipping a little bit. They use to spend 14% of their take on overhead, now they spend 45% on overhead. If true that seems really excessive to me.

Might be time for that to stop - at least until they mend their ways!

Wounded Warrior Project is an inefficient charity. Only 55 cents of every dollar donated goes to programs. The other 45 cents goes to running the charity. You can confirm this here.

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=12842

A much more efficiently run charity that benefits servicemen and veterans is Operation Homefront. 94 cents of every dollar donated goes to programs so only 6 cents goes to running the charity.

http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=10849

Who you donate to is your business, but don't you want more of your dollars to go to the vets rather than the people running the charity?

Didn't it come out not too long ago that the founder rakes in a six-figure salary from WWP?

Just about everyone with a title makes over 100K there.... I stopped two years ago because it smelled badly of internal corruption... The overhead is a serious tell tale that something is very wrong. I also heard that they have decided to give less per vet and per circumstance. Money has changed everything about this organization.

You all should see the digs at Mercy Corps here in Portland. Granted, they used an existing structure, however, the hardwood floors, staircases, cabinetry and office accommodations are of a quality that I could never afford for my own home.

As I said in my post, Operation Homefront is a good one. That second link is to their rating on Charity Navigator.

Just a few months ago WWP caused a stink by not wanting their logo or name used at fund-raising charity shoots organized to raise donations for WWP. They said it had to do with not wanting their name associated with firearms.

Their president was interviewed by Tom Gresham on Gun Talk and when asked specifically about their policy, he basically danced around the question and didn't give a definitive answer. Gresham's take was that there are some anti-freedom, high-dollar donors that have threatened to pull their funding if the WWP logo and name was used at charity shoots.

Soooooo........... Fuck WWP. Let them suck up to their anti-freedom masters.

There are plenty of other charitable organizations out there that specifically help vets and it's easy enough to find one.
