Has anyone seen or heard of a red bakelite stocked SKS? I picked one up the other day at a good price and it looks very legit and everthing matches and appears factory. It appears it came with (a now missing) knife blade bayo rather than the typical spike. Now I am trying to find the correct bayo for it. It's really cool, by the way!

yep, one of the first things folks did was ditch the stock for a wooden one.

There you go... picture. Ever seen one before? I have not, but I don't look at tons of SKSs. It just looked cool to me so I bought it.

Looks good! Yes, I've seen these before - these are chicom "jungle" stocks - chosen for their anti-rot properties. It should take a spike bayo...

Thanks, O.S.O.K., nice to know it's "real". Oddly, it won't take either an SKS spike, ( too long ) or an AKS style bayo (wrong mount). The cut in the foregrip is deep and narrow, like it wants a blade bayo.

i saw one once at a show but had to pass on it. it always figures that you find the good stuff after you've already spent all the cash you had (story of my life).

but really, it looks good. enjoy!!
