What do you follks think about this Beretta both in terms of overall quality as well as the price?

The only Beretta I has is a 92FS and I like it a lot. I know the 8045 uses a different mechanism then the 92 (rotating barrel I think) but I've never handled or fired one. Seems like a decent price for a brand new 45 auto.

Its hard to beat a new centerfire Berreta for $470, no matter what model it is.

The Cougars are really nice pistols and have a good reputation. I have one in 9mm and it might be me, but I can feel the barrel rotate as the pistol seems to torque into my right hand, and try to escape when shooting left handed. ( I shoot either hand, don't have a favorite.) I have gotten used to it so it isn't a problem, just a strange feeling when you are used to standard recoil. I would guess the .45 would be similar, but I have heard people say they don't feel it, so...

Regardless, Beretta makes great pistols. Usually reliable as the sun coming up, and very accurate right out of the box.
