Hello there. I am amazed at the demand and the inflated prices to meet the incredible demand for the Ak type sporting rifles these days. Anticipation for the new attempt to ban assault type weapons and high capacity magazines. Wow. Looking at some of the vendors and the types of weapons and if they are available they all seem to be around the $800-900 range for the low end Romanian Wasr's. Any developments in the speculation of the passing of the bill may either taper off demand or keep clearing out the stores of weapons being sold at unprecedented levels. Now those Mak 90's for the above mentioned prices don't seem to bad to pay that kind of price. Regards.

I passed on a pre-ban Mak last week at the local gunshow. Guy was asking 895.00 Think I might have made a mistake. DOH

Pretty sad when $900 might have been a good buy for a MAK-90!

And to think how many I passed up in the "good old days" when $350 seemed too much! :smiley31:

Hello there. Indeed, when I peruse back issues of the Shotgun News and sigh at all the Old Ads for the Military Arsenal produced weapons at "reasonable" costs. Above the 49th here is what is currently available from Marstar.ca. All Grandfathered status Prohibited so all these weapons require a 12 class Prohibited license to purchase. Interesting firearms for certain at some really interesting prices. Pictures at Marstar.ca follow links to Used rifles Prohibited. Cheers.

http://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/category.jsp?catid=76052 here is a link to the page mentioned above. These weapons look in pretty fine shape. Prohibited Class is Grandfathered and is for home possession only. Not legal to take to a range or anything. Regards.

I was wondering about PL009, the 84S-2 as there were less imported into the land of shall not be infringed than you have fingers on one hand. Once you put up the link, it makes sense as the list is Canadian. Also note that because it is a Canadian import, it has the longer 18 inch barrel.

Makes me wish we had a law that allowed the people to have the right to keep and bear arms that wasn't infringed upon. It would be nice to buy one of those Canadian 84S-2s!!!

Yes indeed. I have recently been admiring a rack full of Non Restricted Polytech M14S that is on sale for $399, really nice rifles. Pretty nice to have the option to pick one of these up. I was not in possession of a Prohibited class weapon when the Grandfathered business was going on so I am unable to register these types of weapons. Just thought I would share the links as I know some folks would recognize the gems available up here for those with the proper licence designations. Regards.
