Finally. My hunt is over. I just won an auction on GB for a x39 Krink kit. Comes with the fake PBS 5 can and no FH, but hey. Beggars can't be choosers, can they?

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=188500590

$1045 shipped ain't bad, considering these kits have been going for way above that. Even the neutered Russian Tula Krink kits ain't that far off in price. So, all in all, maybe it was a good thing my nexk forced me to stay home on Tuesday and take some good stuff to relax.

For those of you interested, there were two more over there. One's a virgin kit (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=189552799), the other was a cut down model (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=189698785). Those two were my fall back in the event the one I got fell through.

My initial thought was that it was too expensive as well. But I remember seeing the x39 Krink kits go on GB for $1500+ a year or so ago. I guess one persons misfortune is anothers gain. Either way, I was looking at spending over a grand for either a kit or a SLR 107UR. At least this way, I know what I'm getting into by doing it myself as Arsenal's customer service has become similar to that of Century Arms in the last couple of years.

On a related note, do the Yugo M92 brakes thread on Bulgarian FSBs?

I wish I had gotten one of those krink kits when I had the chance when they were cheap.

Are the yugos 24mm?

Congrats!!!

I really wanted to go the Krink route, but think I'll SBR an AR and put a can on it, 'bout the same cost!

Not sure to be honest. Do you want me to measure?

Just called Kmart, and they say they may be getting some more of the x39 krink flash hiders inabout a month or 2. That may put out one fire, but I'm still looking for an NDS 1KP receiver so I can proceed with the Form 1.

I used an armory USA for mine, very nice quality. NDS for my Rpk build, excellent recievers, good choice.

I'd be scared shitless to tackle a virgin kit. the thought of getting the holes screwed up on the barrel.....

I've used NDS receivers on all my builds, top notch stuff. I'm more concerned about havinng to buy a regular receiver to do the build. The kit itself isn't exactly a virgin kit, the front end was supposed to have been 'professionally' put together. I may email the seller and find out who did the work.

I was commenting on the link you posted to the virgin kit. I've built a bunch of Ak's a PSL, 1919a4, but I'd be scared to build a virgin. Probably why the ATF pulled that shit.

Got the kit on Friday and everything appears to be in order. The front end parts have been assembled and the barrel and bolt face have been indexed, which is a bonus. I've got a couple of Kimber Ultra Carry takedown tools, I may see if the hole has been drilled for the gas port and if it's been indexed as well.

Krink receivers are designed for the left side folding triangle stock, like my Khyber Pass,

And 5.45 Krink.

Obligitatory pics of fixed stock and UF designs:

See the difference? Different dimension on the butt end of the receiver to allow for the comb of the stock and the push button design, and a completely different rivet pattern on the trunion.

As to the pics of the kit, I'll be getting those up in a day or so.

To answer some other questions that have been floating around, the gas hole is in the barrel, I checked last night before I turned in for the evening. Shouldn't have to worry about non-matching numbers on it as there doesn't appear to be any on it. Not on the carrier, not on the trunion, not on the selector, and not on the gas tube.
